What’s that?  You say you’ve never heard of the Sturniolo Triplets?  Thats’s OK. Don’t worry – that just means you’ve passed 16 years of age and that formats like TikTok and YouTube aren’t your primary source of entertainment. I fall into that category myself, but since I have a Junior High School aged daughter, I sometimes need to learn about things outside my normal entertainment repertoire.  Old Dad problems.

Matt, Chris and Nick Sturniolo

The trio of fraternal 21 year olds, Nick, Matt, and Chris Sturniolo got their start back in 2020 when they began uploading their banter and conversations they had in their mom’s mini-van.  From then, they chiefly posted videos of themselves casually conversing and arguing with one another in the car about random and humorous topics, which made them popular online.  They now have turned this banter sharing into full fledged influencer status, garnering more than 9.1 million TikTok followers, 7.48 million YouTube subscribers, and more than 3.4 million Instagram followers.

In January 2024, Nick launched the lip balm brand “Space Camp Wellness”, Chris has his own brand of clothing, “Fresh Love” that was introduced in 2022, and Matt has his brand “Yesterdays Problem” which still hasn’t launched any items but may be debuting soon now that their tour is over.  I’m aware of these brands because they have been on the top of my daughter, Alice’s Christmas lists lately and I watch as she waits eagerly to catch their weekly video updates posted every Friday at 5:30pm.

When the triplets announced their current tour a couple months ago, she insisted that I take her despite the fact that they weren’t coming anywhere close to home.  Even the reasonably close shows like Chicago, IL and Nashville, TN were on school nights so I cross-checked their tour itinerary with when she was on Spring break, cashed in my credit card card travel points,  booked us a couple flights and a hotel room in Charlotte, NC, got us two VIP Diamond package tickets to the show, and took her to see her favorite YouTubers with hopes that I too could see if I would believe the hype.

Once we were there Alice quickly gravitated towards some other girls her age who also loved the triplets and it was like she had instantly made new friends for life.  Listening to them talk about the triplets and later watching them and the rest of the sold-out crowd scream, laugh and hang on every word spoken by any Sturniolo was nothing short of the way I’ve seen young (now much older) gals react to the Beatles and Elvis Presley in old news clips from the late 1950s and early 1960s.

For me, it’s a little weird.  The guys don’t sing, dance, or play any musical instruments.  They’re not actors or comedians but they do tell stories that are funny and relatable to their fans.  Their show is basically broken down into interactive segments like, “Group Chat”, “Anonymous Confessions”, “Story Time Roulette”, and of course their nightly surprise which as part of the tour’s structure ensures that each show offers a unique experience, making every performance a distinctly different show for their fans.

Their “Surprise Party Tour” not only showcases their comedic banter and youth engaging content but also fosters a deeper connection with their dedicated fanbase.  The live show is designed as an immersive entertainment experience, featuring exclusive meet-and-greet opportunities, live Q&A sessions, and an on-stage set that mimics a typical retro, living room where the triplets’ signature humor and behind-the-scenes stories are shared.

The Belk Theater, located within the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in Charlotte provided an intimate setting that allowed fans to connect closely with the triplets.  Personally,  I thought that the entire area was a breath of fresh air, filled with cool restaurants, shops and night life which left me wishing we could have stayed longer to explore more of Uptown Charolette.

I was able to speak with Sky Whitaker,  a new friend that Alice made who had traveled two-and-half-hours from Raleigh, NC and discuss her long time appreciation of the Sturniolo Triplets.  After a friend first showed her their videos 3 years ago, she said, “I just kept seeing them on my TikTok and thought they were really funny. I became so invested and now I watch them all the time.”  Since this was her third time seeing their live show, I asked her what my readers who’ve never heard of The Sturniolo Triplets should know about them and she added, “Honestly, they’re really funny like comedians, they’re very sweet to all their fans, they’re generous and they have big hearts… they’re just good people.”

When it was all over and I asked Alice what she enjoyed about the experience she said,
“I’ve liked them for a long time and I was really glad that I was able to go see them, meet them and make a lot of new friends while I was there”.
